The carburettor engined Saab 900 and the Saab 900i powered by the fuel injection engine jointly represent the base of the 900 line. Both have functional styling and distinct personality- not the computerised blandness of present-day cars. The external lines of the Saab 900 i have been further accentuated, and so has its kinship with the Saab 9000. But the design principles are still those to which Saab cars owe their traditionally excellent roadholding, high standard of comfort, high safety and practicality.
